ACCOUNTANT - MONEY MAESTRO

Birchwood Construction is looking for a Money Maestro to be the financial engine behind our financial operations. This role offers the chance to deepen your accounting expertise while making a direct impact on exciting construction projects.
You'll work closely with the Director of Finance, Project Managers, and the broader accounting team — applying both analytical skill and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities:
Construction Billing
Set up and maintain project estimates and contracts
Review material and labor reports; resolve discrepancies
Process change orders in conjunction with Project Managers
Prepare and submit monthly owner billing statements
Accounts Payable (AP)
Approve and process invoices, expense reports, and payments
Monitor vendor discounts, tax compliance, and schedule payments (checks, ACH)
Reconcile vendor accounts, bank statements, general ledger accounts, and resolve discrepancies
Accounts Receivable (AR)
Record incoming payments and apply them to customer accounts
Process remote check deposits
General Accounting Duties
Assist with month-end close and financial reporting
Maintain accounting records, policies, and procedures
Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries
Assist with special projects as assigned
Qualifications
Degree in accounting or 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience
Experience with job costing and the construction industry (preferred)
Familiarity with Sage 300 (a plus)
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Knowledge of accounting procedures and principles
Ability to meet deadlines without compromising accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Professional demeanor and positive attitude
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
