Requirements

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Plan and Execute Projects: Oversee and coordinate multiple custom home building projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Exhibit strong forward-thinking and contingency planning skills.

  • Collaborate Effectively: Communicate clearly and effectively with homeowners, vendors, subcontractors, and all other stakeholders, both verbally and in writing, and always in a timely manner.

  • Lead and Build Teams: Provide strong leadership and team-building skills, including mentoring peers, resolving conflicts, and fostering a positive, productive environment. Set an example with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.

  • Manage Resources: Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of manpower resourcing, scheduling subcontractors, and aligning teams to meet project goals.

  • Ensure Safety: Maintain a strong understanding and demonstration of worksite safety and compliance with OSHA and MIOSHA standards.

  • Problem-Solve Efficiently: Troubleshoot and resolve challenges quickly and effectively, adapting to changing project requirements and making informed decisions to keep projects on track.

  • Review and Implement Plans: Conduct shop drawing reviews, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure successful implementation. Exhibit a thorough understanding of blueprint reading, Gantt Chart scheduling, and construction codes and regulations.

  • Enhance Product Quality: Continuously elevate the quality of our work through attention to detail, innovative thinking, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will bring:

  • A proven track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget without sacrificing quality.

  • Expertise in framing and finish carpentry, ensuring superior craftsmanship throughout all project stages.

  • Proficiency in job cost reports, AIA billing, and invoicing.

  • The ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.

  • Strong critical-thinking and decision-making skills, especially under pressure or in rapidly changing circumstances.

  • Positive feedback from peers and the ability to foster collaboration and teamwork.

  • College degree in construction management preferred.

  • 5+ years of project management experience in residential construction.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, BuilderTrend, and field technology.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Comprehensive understanding of construction means and methods, including structural materials and site logistics.

  • Knowledge of local and state building codes.
