Walloon Lake House, Reimagined

This Walloon Lake remodel proves that transformation doesn’t have to mean starting over. The renovation embraced the character of the existing log home while introducing a lighter, more refined perspective throughout. Original architectural elements became part of the new story, pairing the warmth of exposed logs and beams with custom millwork, natural stone, soft finishes, rich color, and thoughtfully layered details.

The kitchen was reimagined as a welcoming centerpiece, with custom cabinetry, stone surfaces, statement lighting, and warm brass accents creating a space that feels elevated without losing its sense of ease. Throughout the home, once-overlooked spaces were given just as much consideration—from a powder room with a sculptural stone sink to tailored laundry storage, built-in cabinetry, and a beautifully integrated bar.

Painted log walls create a fresh backdrop for contemporary furnishings and collected patterns, while dramatic stonework, expansive windows, and original architectural details maintain the unmistakable character of a Northern Michigan retreat.
