What sets Birchwood apart for Ivan is simple: the people. After working across the country on countless job sites, he’s found something rare here—a team that feels like family and leadership that sets the tone with integrity and purpose. “It just feels like home.”
Off the job site, Ivan is a proud husband of nearly twenty years and father to five boys, all raised in the heart of Northern Michigan. These days, he and his wife are soaking up the joy of grandparent life, finding any excuse to spend time with their growing crew. If he’s not in the shop or on site, you’ll likely find him outdoors—camping, fishing, boating, riding his motorcycle, or enjoying a quiet morning in the woods.
What inspires him most? The pursuit of mastery. “I’m always trying to perfect and lift my craft to a new level,” he says. That mindset—rooted in humility and driven by pride—defines not just the work he does, but the legacy he’s building every day.
(And yes, he once had dreams of becoming a jet pilot. Now, he just flies through builds with precision and grace.)
