Masterpiece in the Canopy
This treehouse is a magical space that captivates both the young and old, offering a creative perspective of the world above. The homeowner designed this with his grandchildren, who each had a hand in selecting different features throughout. Birchwood's skilled craftsmen brought this custom treehouse to life using only the finest, high-quality materials to ensure the longevity and structural integrity of this treehouse.
This custom mountain style home north of Harbor Springs is situated on a property that truly feels like you're in the mountains. The exterior features custom Douglas Fir structural timbers, while the interior has 35,000 lineal feet of 1x8 cedar, that was stained to perfection. Gracing the great room is a full masonry fireplace.

Lake Charlevoix Beachfront
A complete remodel. This beachfront infinity retreat offers unobstructed waterfront views from the living room thanks to an expansive NanaWall. The wall of glass panes opens end to end to expose the glistening lake and provides a gateway to the breathtaking porch. Inside the home are custom tongue and groove siding adorning the walls and a custom nine-foot fireplace designed and built for the family.
Torch Lake Waterfront Home
This 10,000 sq. foot new build has expansive views of the world famous turquoise waters of Torch Lake. Birchwood craftsmen custom-built bunk beds, benches, and bookcases to adorn this masterpiece.
Charlevoix Colorful Cottage Remodel
This cottage was reinvigorated with intentional color. Together, we saturated the cottage retreat with floor to ceiling personality and custom finishes. The rich color palette presented in the decor pairs beautifully with natural materials such as Douglas Fir planks and one-of-a-kind custom maple end cut countertops.
Bay Harbor Retreat
Luxury around every corner in this remodeled Bay Harbor vacation home. Custom details include a one-of-a-kind game room, climate controlled wine cellar, elegant lighting throughout the home, and a beautiful butler pantry off the kitchen area.
North 45 Architecture
Rustic, modern building. This architectural concept combines elements of rustic design with a modern aesthetic. The owner spent 20+ hours dismantling the original carriage house to save the century old wood cladding. Birchwood's craftsmen rebuilt the structure and reinstalled the wood cladding to create a unique workspace.

Walloon Lake Remodel
Maintaining the character and charm of the original cottage was central to the design and direction of this remodel. Modern amenities were carefully integrated with the cottage's past as updates were made to the kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room. The rich history of the lake and the surrounding area was reflected in the custom stone masonry fireplace utilizing repurposed 100 year old barnwood for the distinctive mantle.
Camp Wobegon Build
The five-story family retreat is uniquely situated on Round Lake in Charlevoix with a commanding view of the yacht basin and historic downtown area. Each story of the home is devoted to a theme, such as family, grandkids, and wellness. The different stories boast standout features from an in-home fitness center complete with his and her locker rooms to a movie theater and a grandkids' getaway with Murphy beds. The library features an upper dome, with a hand-painted 'welcome,' to welcome visitors to the home.

From the moment you enter the craftsman style home, you're greeted with a taste of the outdoors. Nestled near Boyne Mountain Resort, this custom home is the epitome of the Northern Michigan lifestyle. The exterior features intricate detailing from the heavy corbels and metal roofing to the board and batten beams and cedar siding. The interior brings warmth and relaxation to create a cozy space year round.

This timeless, custom home is located with beautiful views of Lake Michigan's Little Traverse Bay and a world-class golf course. This retreat features 3 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, and a grand great room with plenty of space for entertaining.

A modern, custom home. This home features high-quality materials and craftsmanship. Tailored to fit the lifestyle of a young family, the design includes a large great room, large kitchen, custom built -ins, and a large outdoor patio space on an expansive lakefront lot for entertaining of all kinds.
Burt Lake Cottage Remodel
A warm and inviting remodel with rustic, country accents on the shores of Burt Lake. Designed to entertain, this home boasts a large outdoor grill and patio, an indoor basketball court for children of all ages, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms to host many gatherings.
Historic Belvedere Club Home
Located in the summer home association of the Belvedere Club, this remodel tied new and old together. The home's exterior design pays homage to its original 1800s grand Southern style. To honor the iconic look of this era, Birchwood craftsmen cut and shaped custom rafter tails and an elegant, custom-made, screen door. The home is framed by a wraparound front porch providing incomparable Lake Charlevoix views. The interior is embellished with unique flat matte-finished countertops in the kitchen. The raw look complements and contrasts with the high gloss grey tile backsplash. Custom wood paneling captures the cottage feel throughout the rest of the home. McCaffery Painting and Decorating provided the finishing touches by giving the remodeled rooms a fresh coat of paint.
Charlevoix Cottage Retreat
This stunning cottage began by raising the entire home six feet above the foundation. The BCC Family used their expertise to carefully lift the home in order to pour an entirely new foundation. With the base of the home secure, our craftsmen moved indoors to rebuild the home’s kitchen and bathrooms.
The sleek kitchen features gray, custom made inlay cabinetry that brings out the detail in the one of a kind quartz countertop. A glitzy marble tile backsplash completes the contemporary styled kitchen.
